Shankill A 1 - 1 Firhouse
This was a great game to watch and could have gone either way, with a draw being a fair result. Although the wind played a factor both teams tried to play the game on the ground with some brilliant foot work and passing movement on and off the ball.
The pace was fast and both teams were spent at the end. Every player played their best today and the management team were very pleased with the performance of all the lads.
It is hard to give a man of the match as every player gave their best performance to date. Saying that, Jani in goal did not put a foot wrong and could not be faulted for the goal, Andy had his best game this season while Oisin is growing into his new position. Jack has a great heart and is fighting hard to get a permanent position on the team and is making it very hard for us to make that decision. He has been a great addition to the team and has the potential to nail down his position. Jack is working very hard in training and we want him to know that this has not gone unnoticed. His commitment and attitude has made me give him this weeks player of the week. well done Jack and the rest of the lads, you made us proud today, now lets finish the league in style.

Welcome back for the 2011-12 season.
Shankill F.C. would like to welcome everybody back for the 2011-12 season this year we will have over 16 teams competing in the ddsl, sdfl & dwsl leagues, plus we will have our Panthers section which caters for over 50 boys & girls aged 5 & 6.
Over the course of the season our website will be updated regularly with news, fixtures, results, match reports etc.
Last year was a very successful year for Shankill Football club a year in which we had our first Panthers funday, a day which gave our younger 5 & 6 year old players their first taste of football with real referee’s and goals. The day proved to be very successful and the turn out was excellent.
Our bi annual under 10 trip to Germany was our most successful to date with our under 10B team finishing second and our under 10B1 team fourth.
Our annual Under 9 blitz sponsored by Bradys Shankill was our biggest to date and the quality of football this year was outstanding.
Two of our under 8 teams (and a couple of players from the under 9’s) travelled to watch Manchester United at old Trafford and also played a couple of games against local opposition while they were in England.
In the coming football year we will have our friends from Germany coming over to visit again and play some games at Shanganagh Park.
Our entry level teams will now start at under 8 because of the new age changes made to Junior football and this year we welcome 3 teams at under 8 who will make their debuts for Shankill Football Club.
